Privacy policy
Short version: Calculator Porch has no accounts and never receives the numbers you type. We count visits with Google Analytics, and where the law requires it we ask first.
What we collect
- No accounts, sign-ups or comments. Nothing you type into a calculator is submitted anywhere.
- Visit counts through Google Analytics, described below. No advertising scripts.
- Calculator inputs are processed only in your browser. They're never sent to us or to Google Analytics. If you use “Copy link”, your inputs are placed in the link you copy, and only you decide who sees it.
- Your unit or display preferences, if a calculator offers them, are stored only in your own browser.
- The list of calculators you used recently (their names and links, never your inputs) is kept in your own browser's local storage to show on the All calculators page. Clearing your browser's site data removes it.
- Your cookie choice (Accept or Decline) is kept in your browser's local storage for up to a year.
Google Analytics
- What it records: the pages you view (their addresses without anything after a “?”), the page that sent you here, your approximate location, your device and browser type, and when a calculator is used (its name only). Never the numbers you type or the results.
- Cookies: Google Analytics sets two first-party cookies,
_gaand_ga_<ID>, to tell new visits from returning ones. Google keeps the event data for 14 months. - Your choice: if your browser is set to a European time zone, nothing loads until you choose Accept. Elsewhere, Google Analytics runs unless you choose Decline. Visitors from the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are treated as not consenting until they accept. Change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page; declining stops Google Analytics and removes its cookies.
- Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off: this data isn't used for advertising.
- More: how Google uses data from sites that use its services, Google's privacy policy and the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
Hosting
The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical request data (such as your IP address and browser type) to deliver the pages and protect the site from attacks. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
If you email contact@calculatorporch.com, Cloudflare Email Routing forwards your message to our private inbox. We use your address and message only to reply, and we don't share them.
Changes
If we ever add advertising or affiliate links, this page will be updated first, and where the law requires it, you'll be asked for consent before anything runs.
